OUR STORY

IN THE HEART OF POTATO COUNTRY

Covered Bridge Potato Chips is a 4th generation family business located in Hartland, New Brunswick, home to the longest covered bridge in the world. In the surrounding Saint John River Valley, known as Canada's potato county, lies our farms where we grow our dark russet potatoes that give our chips their trademark golden-brown colour. We believe simple ingredients and unique flavours are the recipe for the perfect chip. All Covered Bridge products are gluten free without preservatives, artificial flavouring or colouring with every batch carefully cooked for delicious natural taste and a satisfying crunch.

EARLY DAYS AT ALBRIGHT FARMS

Our traditional recipe dates back to the 1920s when Great Grammy Lela would make homemade chips on her wood-fired pot-belly stove using Great Grampy Aubrey's freshly picked potatoes. Today, we carry on their values and hard work ethic as Aubrey spent decades farming the old-fashioned way until he could buy his first tractor and build his own potato house in the 1940s.

A NEW GENERATION OF FAMILY & PRODUCTS

In 2004, Matt and Ryan Albright started a potato distribution company and later bought the farm where the potatoes were harvested. The idea of Covered Bridge Potato Chips was then born with production starting in 2009. Their kettle-cooked chips became an immediate local and regional hit and has since spread to North American markets. Now, with multiple locations and over 500 acres of dark russet potatoes grown year-round, we proudly bring you a delicious top-tier line of assorted snack products packed with flavour in every crunch.
